Black Leg Overview
Black Leg is an A-tier fighting style that offers versatility with strong AoE and single-target moves. Inspired by the legendary fighting style of the Straw Hat cook, Black Leg focuses on powerful kicks that can sweep multiple enemies or focus down a single target. It is the most well-rounded fighting style in Haze Seas - not the best at any one thing, but competent at everything.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Tier | A |
| Role | Versatile with strong AoE and single-target moves |

V1 Skills
Skill 1: Party Table Kick
- Damage: 1,400
- Cooldown: 8 seconds
- Range: 6 meters (spin AoE)
- Startup: 6 frames
- Description: Spin rapidly with an extended leg, kicking everything around you. Party Table Kick is a 360-degree attack that hits all nearby enemies. This is your primary AoE tool for both PvE farming and PvP crowd control. The spin animation also provides a slight evasion bonus as your hitbox shifts during the rotation.
Skill 2: Concassé
- Damage: 2,200
- Cooldown: 10 seconds
- Range: 8 meters (leaping kick)
- Startup: 8 frames
- Description: Leap into the air and deliver a devastating overhead kick. Concassé is your single-target burst skill - the overhead kick deals heavy damage and has a slight ground impact that staggers nearby enemies (without dealing additional damage). Use it as a combo finisher or a punish tool when opponents are staggered.
Skill 3: Mouton Shot
- Damage: 1,800
- Cooldown: 9 seconds
- Range: 10 meters (dash kick)
- Startup: 5 frames
- Description: Dash forward with a powerful kick. Mouton Shot is your gap closer - it covers 10 meters quickly and deals solid damage on hit. The fast startup makes it a reliable combo starter. On hit, the target is pushed back 3 meters, creating space or setting up for a follow-up.
Skill 4: Anti-Manner Kick Course
- Damage: 2,800
- Cooldown: 14 seconds
- Range: 7 meters (powerful single kick)
- Startup: 10 frames
- Description: Your strongest single-target attack. Wind up and deliver a massive vertical kick that launches the target high into the air. The 10-frame startup is slow by fighting style standards, so this should only be used as a combo finisher when the target cannot dodge. The launch creates opportunities for aerial follow-ups.
V2 Skills
Black Leg V2 upgrades all V1 skills with enhanced damage and adds the Diable Jambe fire effect. The V2 quest requires: 120,000 Beli, defeat 80 NPCs with Black Leg, and defeat the Black Leg Master boss.
Skill 1: Party Table Kick V2 (Enhanced)
- Damage: 1,800 (up from 1,400)
- Cooldown: 7 seconds (reduced from 8)
- Added Effect: Spinning kicks now have fire trails that deal 200 additional damage per hit to enemies within 2 meters
Skill 2: Concassé V2 (Enhanced)
- Damage: 2,800 (up from 2,200)
- Cooldown: 9 seconds (reduced from 10)
- Added Effect: The ground impact now deals 600 damage to enemies within 4 meters and applies a brief burn
Skill 3: Mouton Shot V2 (Enhanced)
- Damage: 2,200 (up from 1,800)
- Cooldown: 8 seconds (reduced from 9)
- Added Effect: The kick leaves a fire trail along the dash path that damages enemies who walk through it
Skill 4: Diable Jambe (Replaces Anti-Manner Kick Course)
- Damage: N/A (transformation buff)
- Cooldown: 20 seconds
- Duration: 15 seconds
- Description: Ignite your leg with spinning fire, gaining +25% kick damage and adding fire damage to all Black Leg skills for 15 seconds. During Diable Jambe, Party Table Kick becomes a fire tornado, Concassé creates a fire explosion on impact, and Mouton Shot leaves a longer fire trail. This is your win condition - activate Diable Jambe and go aggressive for 15 seconds.
Frame Data Notes
| Move | Startup | Active | Recovery | On Hit | On Block |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Party Table Kick | 6f | 8f (multi-hit) | 10f | +4 | 0 |
| Concassé | 8f | 5f | 12f | +5 | -4 |
| Mouton Shot | 5f | 4f | 9f | +4 | -1 |
| Anti-Manner Kick | 10f | 6f | 16f | +8 | -8 |
Key takeaways:
- Mouton Shot is your safest tool for approaching (-1 on block is essentially neutral)
- Anti-Manner Kick is highly punishable on block (-8) - only use it in confirmed combos
- Party Table Kick is the only skill that is safe on block (0), making it your pressure tool
- Diable Jambe V2 changes the dynamic by adding damage to every skill without changing frame data
Combo Routes
V1 Standard Combo
- Mouton Shot (gap close + pushback) > M1 x3 > Concassé (overhead burst) > M1 x2 > Anti-Manner Kick Course (launch finisher)
- Expected damage: ~8,000 - 9,500
V1 AoE Combo (PvE)
- Party Table Kick (spin hits group) > M1 x2 (sweep remaining enemies) > Concassé (overhead on survivors) > Mouton Shot (dash through any remaining)
- Clears 5-8 NPCs per rotation
V2 Diable Jambe Combo
- Diable Jambe (activate buff) > Mouton Shot V2 (gap close + fire trail) > M1 x3 > Concassé V2 (burst + fire explosion) > Party Table Kick V2 (fire tornado) > M1 x2 > Mouton Shot V2 (chase if they run)
- Expected damage: ~13,000 - 16,000 (with fire damage included)
- This is Black Leg's maximum damage output - the 15-second Diable Jambe window is your kill time
V2 Sustain Combo (Without Diable Jambe)
- Mouton Shot V2 (approach) > M1 x3 > Party Table Kick V2 (AoE + fire trails) > Concassé V2 (burst)
- Expected damage: ~7,500 - 9,000
- Use this while Diable Jambe is on cooldown - the V2 base damage is still solid
When to Use V1 vs V2
Use V1 When:
- You are leveling and have not unlocked V2 yet
- You prefer the Anti-Manner Kick Course over Diable Jambe (some players prefer the raw burst of the V1 Skill 4 over the buff-based V2 Skill 4)
Use V2 When:
- Diable Jambe's 15-second damage buff is essential for your burst windows
- The fire damage additions to all skills significantly increase your total output
- You need the enhanced damage numbers to compete with S-tier fighting styles
Note: V2 is generally better overall, but V1's Anti-Manner Kick Course provides raw burst that some players prefer in specific PvP scenarios.
Matchup Notes
Strong Against
- Groups of enemies (Party Table Kick + Concassé AoE is excellent)
- Tanky builds (consistent damage output whittles them down)
- Beginners (easy to learn, forgiving playstyle)
Weak Against
- Dragon Claw (Dragon Claw out-damages Black Leg in burst exchanges)
- Electro (Electro's speed and combo potential overwhelm Black Leg's slower frame data)
- Mobile fruits (Leopard, Dragon) can escape Black Leg's shorter-range skills
Best Pairings
- Fruit: Venom or Phoenix - Venom's zones complement Black Leg's mid-range play; Phoenix's sustain pairs with Black Leg's versatility
- Weapon: Shusui or Bisento V2 - wide-swinging weapons complement Black Leg's AoE kicks
- Race: Any - Black Leg is versatile enough to work with every race. D. Clan adds burst potential, Beastborne adds speed for gap closing, Fishborne adds farming mobility.
