Beginners Guide to Haze Seas

Everything new players need to know about Haze Seas - from choosing your first Devil Fruit to understanding seas, races, and progression.

Welcome to Haze Seas

Haze Seas is a One Piece-inspired Roblox game where you explore seas, find Devil Fruits, master fighting styles, and build your character. The game features an open world split across multiple seas, each with increasingly powerful enemies, rare loot, and unique challenges. Whether you want to become the strongest PvP fighter or the most efficient farmer, this guide will help you get started on the right foot.

Choosing Your Race

Each race provides different bonuses that can significantly impact your gameplay experience. Your race is assigned randomly when you first join, but you can reroll it later using Race Spins.

  • Human - Balanced base stats, good for learning. Humans receive no special passive bonuses but also have no drawbacks, making them a solid blank slate while you figure out the game mechanics.
  • Fishborne - Faster swimming, useful for sea exploration. The +50% swim speed is surprisingly handy during early game when you lack fast travel options and need to cross water frequently between islands.
  • Skyborne - Enhanced aerial abilities. The boosted first Skywalk gives you better vertical mobility, which helps with reaching elevated quest givers and escaping ground-level danger.
  • Beastborne - Speed and stamina bonuses. The +20% walk speed and +5% stamina bonus make this race a strong pick for PvP-oriented players who value mobility.
  • D. Clan - Conquerors Haki (rare, powerful). The rarest race and widely considered the best, D. Clan grants access to Conquerors Haki, which can stagger enemies and create openings in combat.

If you are brand new, do not worry too much about your starting race. Focus on learning the game first, and reroll later once you understand which playstyle you prefer.

Controls and UI

Before setting sail, familiarize yourself with the core controls:

Movement

  • W/A/S/D - Move your character
  • Space - Jump (press again mid-air for Skywalk if unlocked)
  • Shift - Sprint (consumes stamina)
  • Q - Dash (quick dodge with i-frames)
  • Double-tap W - Bunny hop acceleration

Combat

  • Left Click / M1 - Basic attack (chains into combos)
  • 1-4 Keys - Activate fighting style skills
  • F - Activate Devil Fruit ability (hold for transformation fruits)
  • R - Observation Haki toggle (when unlocked)
  • T - Conquerors Haki burst (D. Clan only)

UI Elements

  • Health Bar - Top left, shows current HP
  • Stamina Bar - Below health, depletes when sprinting, dashing, or using skills
  • Skill Cooldowns - Bottom center, shows remaining cooldown on each skill
  • Minimap - Top right, shows nearby NPCs, bosses, and points of interest
  • Quest Tracker - Right side, displays your current active quest and progress
  • Beli Counter - Top of screen, your current currency

Getting Your First Devil Fruit

Devil Fruits spawn under trees every 1-2 hours across all seas. For beginners:

  1. Check trees near spawn areas frequently - fruits glow with a distinctive colored aura making them visible from a moderate distance
  2. Use codes like HAZEPIECE23 for free spins that can grant you Race Spins or Beli
  3. Buy from the Fruit Dealer if you have enough Beli - he spawns on major islands and sells random fruits at tier-dependent prices
  4. Start with a farming fruit like Magma or Buddha - these will help you level faster and earn Beli more efficiently than PvP-focused fruits

Fruit Tiers for Beginners

When evaluating fruits as a new player, prioritize farming efficiency over PvP potential:

  • Best starter fruits: Magma (AoE farming), Buddha (tanky transformation), Flame (accessible and strong clear)
  • Decent starters: Snow, Ice, Light
  • Avoid early: Dragon, Dough, Venom (these shine in PvP but are overkill for PvE grinding and harder to use effectively)

First Steps After Spawning

Follow this sequence when you first load into the game:

  1. Talk to the quest NPC on spawn island - Accept the first available quest. These early quests give 100-500 XP and a small Beli reward.
  2. Learn the combat system - Practice your M1 combo string (typically 4-5 hits) and get comfortable with the timing of your dash (Q) for dodging.
  3. Complete every quest on the starting island - Do not rush to the next area. Each quest gives valuable XP and Beli that you will need.
  4. Unlock your first skill - At level 10, you unlock your first fighting style skill. Equip it immediately and practice using it in your combos.
  5. Save Beli for essentials - Early purchases should focus on a decent weapon or saving toward a Fruit Dealer purchase. Avoid cosmetic items until you are established.
  6. Explore carefully - Higher-level areas have aggressive NPCs that can easily defeat low-level players. Stay within your level range.

Common Beginner Mistakes

Spending Beli on Cosmetics Too Early

The temptation to buy a cool hat or sword skin is real, but early Beli should go toward weapons, fruit purchases, or saving for key upgrades. You will earn plenty of Beli later for cosmetic spending.

Skipping Quests

Quests are the primary source of XP in the early game. Skipping them to grind NPCs directly is significantly slower. Always have an active quest.

Using a PvP Fruit for PvE Grinding

Fruits like Dragon and Dough are incredible in PvP, but their moves are often single-target or require precise aim that is wasted on NPC groups. Magma and Buddha clear camps much faster.

Ignoring Fighting Style Upgrades

Your fighting style determines your combo potential and skill set. Upgrading from V1 to V2 as soon as possible unlocks an additional skill and enhanced base damage. Check the fighting style trainer on your current sea to see the V2 requirements.

Not Learning to Dash and Block

Dash (Q) gives invincibility frames that let you phase through attacks. Blocking reduces incoming damage significantly. New players often just hold W and M1, which works against early NPCs but will get you killed in PvP and against bosses.

Wasting Race Spins

Race Spins are relatively scarce. Do not burn through them trying to get D. Clan immediately. Use your free spins from codes first, and only spend Robux on spins if you are committed to a specific build.

First 30 Minutes Walkthrough

Follow this exact sequence when you first log in to maximize your early progress:

Minutes 0-5: Setup

  2. Join the Roblox group — Required for GROUPONLY code. Visit the game page and click Join Group, wait 1-2 minutes.
  3. Check your race — If you got Beastborne or D. Clan from Race Spins, you are in great shape. Human is fine for learning.

Minutes 5-15: First Combat

  2. Kill beach bandits (Level 1-5) — Practice your M1 combo (4-5 hits) and dash timing (Q key)

Minutes 15-30: First Upgrades

  1. Complete all Starter Island quests — Do NOT skip any. Each gives 100-500 XP + Beli
  2. Buy a weapon from the dock shop — If you have enough Beli, upgrade from Katana to a 2 Sword Style or Bisento

Essential Tips

  1. Save your Beli - do not spend on cosmetic items early
  2. Join the Roblox group - use code GROUPONLY for 10K Cash
  3. Focus on one fruit - master one before switching to understand combo timing and move properties
  4. Complete quests - they give XP and Beli at a rate that beats raw NPC grinding
  5. Learn the dash timing - it is your most important defensive tool
  6. Join the Discord server - spawn notifications for Devil Fruits and event alerts are posted there in real time
  7. Do not fight players above your level - there is no penalty for running away, and high-level players often camp popular areas
  8. Check back at the Fruit Dealer regularly - his inventory refreshes periodically and sometimes includes high-tier fruits at discount prices
  9. Redeem codes immediately - see our Active Codes page for all working codes
  10. Use private servers for farming - fewer players competing for fruit spawns and boss kills
