Barrier Fruit Overview
The Barrier fruit is a C-tier Paramecia built around defensive utility. It can create shields to protect yourself and teammates, but its offensive capabilities are extremely limited. In a game where damage output determines farming speed and PvP viability, Barrier's low damage makes it a tough sell. The team shield on Barrier Dome is its only unique selling point, making it situationally useful in group content but weak for solo play.

Move Set
Skill 1: Barrier Wall (Unlocks at Fruit Equip)
- Damage: 0
- Cooldown: 8 seconds
- Range: 5 meters
- Description: Create a barrier wall in front of you that blocks incoming projectiles and melee attacks for several seconds. Deals no damage but provides solid protection. Useful for blocking boss attacks while learning mechanics.
Skill 2: Barrier Push (Unlocks at Fruit Level 25)
- Damage: 800
- Cooldown: 10 seconds
- Range: 10 meters
- Description: Push a barrier forward, repelling enemies and dealing minor damage on contact. Your only reliable damage skill. The knockback can create space but the damage is negligible.
Skill 3: Barrier Dome (Unlocks at Fruit Level 50)
- Damage: 0
- Cooldown: 20 seconds
- Range: 12 meters
- Description: Encase yourself and nearby allies in a protective dome. Teammates inside are shielded from damage for the duration. This is Barrier's most valuable skill and the main reason it has any trade value.
Skill 4: Barrier Crash (Unlocks at Fruit Level 75)
- Damage: 1,500
- Cooldown: 16 seconds
- Range: 8 meters
- Description: Shatter a barrier outward, dealing AoE damage to surrounding enemies. Your hardest-hitting move but still modest compared to other fruits' capstones. Best used as a follow-up after Barrier Push.
Why C-Tier
Barrier's problem is simple: three of its four skills deal zero or minimal damage. In a game where kill speed matters for progression, Barrier falls behind every other fruit. The defensive utility is nice in theory, but most content can be cleared faster by simply killing enemies before they damage you. Barrier Dome is the exception - it has genuine value in group boss fights.
When to Trade
Trade Barrier if you primarily play solo - its defensive kit slows your farming speed significantly. Keep it only if you frequently run group content where Barrier Dome supports your team. The 150K-350K range is decent for a C-tier fruit, so you can often trade it for a low B-tier option.
Best Pairings
- Weapon: Shusui - budget AoE weapon to compensate for Barrier's low damage
- Fighting Style: Black Leg - adds much-needed offensive pressure
- Race: Any - Barrier benefits equally from all races
