Love Fruit in Haze Seas

Complete guide to Love Devil Fruit - A-tier, support and disruption.

Love Fruit Overview

The Love fruit is A-tier, specializing in support and disruption. It is the most disruptive Paramecia fruit in Haze Seas, capable of pulling opponents out of position, shielding allies, and creating chaos with AoE knockbacks. Love rewards strategic play - you are not dealing the most damage, but you are controlling who can deal damage and to whom. In team fights, a Love player is the most impactful support on the field, turning the tide of engagements with well-timed Charms and Passion Waves.

Move Set

Skill 1: Charm (Unlocks at Fruit Equip)

  • Damage: 800
  • Cooldown: 8 seconds
  • Range: 14 meters (attract)
  • Description: Attract a target toward you with a heart beam. The target is pulled 6-8 meters toward your position and briefly staggered (0.8 seconds). Charm is your primary disruption tool - it pulls opponents out of their safe positions and sets up combos for you or your teammates. In 1v1, use Charm to reel in runners. In team fights, pull priority targets into your team's damage zone.

Skill 2: Lovelove Beam (Unlocks at Fruit Level 25)

  • Damage: 2,200 (ranged)
  • Cooldown: 10 seconds
  • Range: 18 meters (projectile)
  • Description: Fire a concentrated beam of love energy that deals damage on contact. Lovelove Beam is your primary damage tool - the projectile travels quickly and has a slight homing effect that curves toward nearby enemies. The homing is subtle but makes the beam harder to sidestep than a straight projectile. Use it for ranged poke and as a combo follow-up after Charm.

Skill 3: Heart Shield (Unlocks at Fruit Level 50)

  • Damage: None (barrier)
  • Cooldown: 14 seconds
  • Range: Self + 5-meter radius
  • Duration: 4 seconds
  • Description: Create a heart-shaped barrier that blocks incoming attacks. The shield absorbs up to 3,000 damage before breaking and protects both you and nearby allies. Heart Shield is your defensive tool - use it to absorb burst damage combos from opponents, protect allies during chokes, or buy time for your cooldowns to reset. The shield does not block grabs (Darkness, Black Spiral).

Skill 4: Passion Wave (Unlocks at Fruit Level 75)

  • Damage: 1,600 (AoE knockback)
  • Cooldown: 15 seconds
  • Range: 12-meter radius
  • Description: Unleash a wave of passion energy that damages and knocks back all enemies in a large radius. The knockback is significant (8-10 meters) and creates immediate space around you. Passion Wave is your panic button and team fight tool - it stops rushes, peels for allies, and resets the fight in your favor. In 1v1, use it to create distance when opponents close the gap.

Full combo potential (all skills + M1): ~6,000 - 8,000 damage. Love's value is in disruption, not raw damage.

Combo Routes

Reel and Punish Combo

  1. Charm (pull target in + stagger) > M1 x3 > Lovelove Beam (ranged follow-up) > Passion Wave (knockback + disengage)
  2. Expected damage: ~5,000 - 6,000
  3. This is your 1v1 bread-and-butter - quick damage and a clean escape

Team Fight Support Combo

  1. Heart Shield (protect allies from burst) > Charm (pull an enemy into your team) > Lovelove Beam (damage on the pulled target) > Passion Wave (peel if the enemy team rushes)
  2. Expected damage: ~3,000 - 4,000 (but your team deals significantly more to the pulled target)
  3. Your value is creating opportunities for teammates, not dealing damage yourself

Defensive Reset Combo

  1. Passion Wave (knockback to create space) > Heart Shield (absorb the opponent's next attack from range) > Charm (pull them when they overextend chasing you) > M1 x4 > Lovelove Beam
  2. Expected damage: ~5,000 - 7,000
  3. This works against aggressive opponents who chase after Passion Wave knockback

Peeling Combo (Protecting an Ally)

  1. Charm (pull the enemy attacking your ally away from them)
  2. Passion Wave (knockback the enemy further)
  3. Heart Shield on your ally (absorb follow-up damage)
  4. Lovelove Beam on the displaced enemy
  5. This sequence saves an ally from certain death and punishes the attacker

Matchups

Favorable Matchups

  • Dough - Heart Shield absorbs Dough's Sticky Floor damage and Stretch Punch. Passion Wave disrupts Dough's control setup. You neutralize their game plan.
  • Venom - Heart Shield blocks Venom Hydra heads. Charm pulls Venom users out of their zones. Your disruption counters their sustained pressure.
  • Magma - Magma's slow projectiles cannot break Heart Shield fast enough. Charm pulls Magma users out of their Magma Floor comfort zone.

Even Matchups

  • Soul - Both fruits are utility-oriented. Soul's healing vs. Love's disruption is a long attrition match. Resurrection can be disruptive to your kill plans.
  • Phoenix - Phoenix's healing counters your poke damage, but Charm disrupts Phoenix Dive escapes. The matchup depends on who controls the engagement timing.

Unfavorable Matchups

  • Leopard - Leopard is too fast for Charm to catch. Your disruption tools have cast times that Leopard exploits with hit-and-run attacks. Heart Shield breaks quickly to Claw Frenzy's 5-hit chain.
  • Dragon - Dragon's flight makes Charm impossible to land. Heart Shield absorbs one Dragon Breath, but Dragon's sustained pressure breaks through quickly.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Best support fruit in the game for team fights
  • Charm is a unique displacement tool that sets up allies for kills
  • Heart Shield provides team-wide damage absorption
  • Passion Wave is an excellent peel and space control tool
  • Lovelove Beam has homing for reliable ranged damage
  • Disrupts zoning fruits by pulling opponents out of their zones

Cons

  • Low damage output compared to other A-tier fruits
  • Heart Shield does not block grabs - vulnerable to Darkness and similar skills
  • Charm's cast time can be interrupted by fast opponents
  • Passion Wave can accidentally knock enemies to safety instead of danger
  • Weak in 1v1 against burst fruits that can kill through Heart Shield
  • Requires team coordination to maximize value - weaker in solo queue

PvP Strategy

  • Charm is your most valuable skill - Pulling a target into your team's damage is worth more than any damage you could deal yourself. Prioritize landing Charm on priority targets (healers, low HP runners, zoning fruit users).
  • Heart Shield timing is everything - Activate it just before an opponent's burst combo lands. Preemptive shielding wastes the absorb; reactive shielding can save you or an ally from lethal damage.
  • Passion Wave for tempo control - Use it to interrupt opponent combos, peel for allies, or create space when you are under pressure. Do not waste it for damage alone.
  • Play around your team - Love fruit is significantly weaker in 1v1 than in group content. Coordinate with allies - Charm targets into ally burst, shield allies during enemy burst windows.

Best Pairings

  • Weapon: Soul Cane - the pull effect stacks with Charm for double displacement on priority targets
  • Fighting Style: Black Leg - versatile moveset that works well with Love's disruption, providing damage follow-ups after Charm
  • Race: D. Clan - Conquerors Haki into Charm is an inescapable setup for team burst damage
