Smoke Fruit in Haze Seas

Complete guide to Smoke Devil Fruit - C-tier, close-range disruption with limited burst.

Smoke Fruit Overview

The Smoke fruit is a C-tier Logia that focuses on close-range disruption. Its skills revolve around blinding and rushing opponents, but the damage numbers are too low to threaten most builds. As a Logia, it provides some early-game survivability, but Smoke lacks the raw power of higher-tier Logias and the utility of better Paramecia fruits. It works as a starter fruit for new players but should be traded quickly.

Move Set

Skill 1: Smoke Punch (Unlocks at Fruit Equip)

  • Damage: 550
  • Cooldown: 6 seconds
  • Range: 5 meters
  • Description: Deliver a punch wrapped in smoke. Fast execution and short cooldown make this your most reliable damage, but the melee range means you must put yourself at risk to use it.

Skill 2: Smoke Screen (Unlocks at Fruit Level 25)

  • Damage: 700
  • Cooldown: 12 seconds
  • Range: 12 meters
  • Description: Release a thick cloud of smoke that blinds enemies inside. The blind effect reduces opponent accuracy, giving you a brief advantage. Damage is modest but the utility is decent for PvP disruption.

Skill 3: Smoke Rush (Unlocks at Fruit Level 50)

  • Damage: 1,100
  • Cooldown: 10 seconds
  • Range: 14 meters
  • Description: Dash forward as a stream of smoke, damaging enemies in your path. Functions as both a gap closer and an escape tool. The damage is acceptable for a dash skill.

Skill 4: White Out (Unlocks at Fruit Level 75)

  • Damage: 1,600
  • Cooldown: 16 seconds
  • Range: 16 meters
  • Description: Explode smoke outward in all directions, dealing AoE damage and briefly blinding nearby enemies. Your strongest damage tool and a decent panic button when surrounded.

Why C-Tier

Smoke's core issue is low damage combined with melee-range requirements. Higher-tier fruits deal similar or better damage at safer ranges. The blind effect on Smoke Screen and White Out is the only real advantage, but experienced players can still function while partially blinded. Logia intangibility helps early but fades as Haki becomes common.

When to Trade

Trade Smoke whenever you receive a B-tier or higher offer. Its 100K-250K Beli range is low, so you may need to add Beli to get a meaningful upgrade. Past level 150, Smoke's damage is too low to farm efficiently - prioritize replacing it.

Best Pairings

  • Weapon: Soul Cane - budget option with pull utility for Smoke's melee range
  • Fighting Style: Black Leg - beginner-friendly melee style that covers Smoke's close-range needs
  • Race: Any - Smoke has no meaningful race synergy
